About The Position

The Janitorial role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the store and providing friendly, courteous service to customers. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. Training will be provided at the store level. Duties listed are representative of the major responsibilities and may be supplemented at the discretion of store management.

Requirements

• Regular, reliable attendance.
• Ability to bend and stoop.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work on feet for the entire 4–8-hour shift.

Nice To Haves

• For store or facility teammates: a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
• For Store Support Center teammates: a minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
• Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline; if invited to interview, manager approval based on performance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Maintain floors by scrubbing with appropriate pads and chemicals, stripping, polishing, and re-glossing.
• Operate scrub and buffing machines.
• Empty trash inside and outside the store.
• Clean windows, break rooms, restrooms, and the manager’s office.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Prepare linens for laundry pickup.
• Change light bulbs.
• Perform other duties assigned at the discretion of store management.
