About The Position

The Checker provides friendly and courteous customer service by greeting customers, accurately checking out purchases, collecting payment, and bagging orders. The role involves identifying produce and using produce and product codes, distinguishing between manufacturer and Schnucks coupons, and processing manufacturer coupons. Checkers use the appropriate procedures for accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers, and other payment options; maintain accurate register records and cash security; and change register receipt and coupon machine tapes. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function. Other duties may be assigned at store management’s discretion. Training is provided at the store level. Physical demands include bending, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working on one’s feet for the entire shift, which lasts 4–8 hours. For internal candidates, a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred for Store/Facility Teammates, and one year is preferred for Store Support Center Teammates. Internal candidates must be in good standing, and interview invitations require manager approval based on performance. Applicants must be 18 or older.

Nice To Haves

For internal Store/Facility Teammates, at least six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.

Internal candidates must be in good standing and, if invited to interview, have manager approval based on performance.

Complete register records accurately.
Practice and maintain cash security.
Bag customer orders.
Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes.
Perform other duties assigned at the discretion of store management.
