About The Position

Maintain a safe and clean store facility environment while providing friendly, courteous customer service to internal and external customers. The role generally works 6–8 hour shifts between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., although the position may require varied shifts in a 24/7 operation. Other related duties may be assigned or needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Food Handlers Certification, as required by state laws.
• Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform moderate lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to crawl, bend, stoop, climb, balance, reach, walk, push, pull, and maneuver in tight quarters, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
• Ability to use approved chemicals and solvents.
• Ability to work outdoors in cold, hot, and inclement weather, including rain, snow, and sleet.
• Ability to respond quickly to audible pages for spill cleanup, customer service, accidents, and emergencies.
• Ability to communicate through hearing and speech with customers and fellow employees.
• Ability to learn safety and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers, maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic customer-service atmosphere.
• Perform regular and as-needed cleaning throughout the store to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and employees.
• Keep sales floors, backrooms, restrooms, offices, and breakrooms free of spills by sweeping and mopping; maintain sweep logs.
• Empty interior and exterior trash cans and bins.
• Maintain office and employee breakroom areas.
• Wipe down walls and appliances, including pop machines, vending machines, ATMs, cases, and rails.
• Clean and sanitize restroom floors, fixtures, and appliances.
• Clean store cases and glass doors.
• Maintain can return machines and their area, including wiping down machines and emptying bins.
• Dust and vacuum store facilities.
• Assist with replacing lamps in light fixtures.
• Clean and scrub backrooms.
• Cooperate with customers in a kind and courteous manner.
• Assist with rounding up and bringing in shopping carts from the parking lot as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
