About The Position

The Janitorial Clerk helps maintain a safe, clean store facility and provides friendly, courteous service to internal and external customers. The role includes cleaning and maintaining store floors, restrooms, backrooms, offices, breakrooms, equipment, and other areas throughout the property, as well as responding to spills and other needs. The position generally works 6–8 hour shifts between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., within a 24/7 store operation. Duties and qualifications may vary, and employees must follow company policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to perform moderate lifting up to 30 pounds.
Ability to crawl, bend, stoop, climb, balance, reach, walk, push, pull, maneuver in tight quarters, and climb ladders and scaffolding.
Ability to use approved chemicals and solvents.
Ability to work outside in cold, hot, and inclement weather, including rain, snow, and sleet.
Ability to communicate with customers and fellow employees through hearing and speech.
Ability to learn safety and departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy.
Food Handlers Certification, as required by state law.

Responsibilities

Welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers while providing friendly, enthusiastic customer service.
Clean and maintain a safe environment throughout the store for customers and employees.
Sweep and mop floors in areas including the sales floor, backroom, restrooms, office, and breakroom, and maintain sweep logs.
Empty trash cans and bins throughout the interior and exterior of the store property.
Maintain office and employee breakroom areas.
Wipe down walls and appliances, including pop machines, vending machines, ATMs, cases, and rails.
Clean and sanitize restroom floors, fixtures, and appliances.
Clean cases and glass doors throughout the store.
Maintain can return machines and the surrounding area, including wiping machines and emptying bins.
Dust and vacuum store facilities.
Assist with replacing lamps in light fixtures.
Clean and scrub backrooms.
Cooperate courteously with customers.
Assist with gathering and bringing in shopping carts from the parking lot as needed.
Respond to audible pages for spill cleanup, customer service, accidents, and emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
