About The Position

The Janitorial Clerk maintains a safe and clean store facility and provides friendly, courteous service to internal and external customers. The role involves regularly cleaning store areas and responding to cleaning needs as they arise, along with other related duties. Shifts are generally 6–8 hours and may fall between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.; the operation runs 24/7 and varied shifts may be required.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to perform moderate lifting up to 30 pounds.
Ability to crawl, bend, stoop, climb, balance, reach, walk, push, pull, maneuver in tight quarters, and climb ladders and scaffolding.
Ability to use approved chemicals and solvents.
Ability to work outside in cold, hot, and inclement weather, including rain, snow, and sleet.
Ability to respond quickly to audible pages for spill cleanup, customer service, accidents, and emergencies.
Ability to communicate through hearing and speech with customers and fellow employees.
Ability to learn safety and departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy.
Food Handlers Certification, as required by state law.

Responsibilities

Welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers while maintaining a friendly, enthusiastic customer-service atmosphere.
Keep the store clean and safe for customers and employees by completing cleaning tasks regularly and as needed.
Keep floors throughout the store spill-free by sweeping and mopping, and maintain sweep logs.
Empty trash cans and bins throughout the interior and exterior of the store property.
Maintain office and employee breakroom areas.
Wipe down walls and appliances, including pop machines, vending machines, ATMs, cases, and rails.
Clean and sanitize restroom floors, fixtures, and appliances.
Clean cases and glass doors throughout the store.
Maintain can-return machines and their surrounding area, including wiping down machines and emptying bins.
Dust and vacuum store facilities.
Assist with replacing lamps in light fixtures.
Clean and scrub backrooms.
Cooperate with customers in a kind and courteous manner.
Assist with rounding up and bringing in shopping carts from the parking lot as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
