About The Position

The Janitorial Clerk maintains a safe and clean store facility and provides friendly, courteous customer service to internal and external customers. The role performs regular and as-needed cleaning throughout the store, responds to spill-cleanup and other calls, and performs other related duties. Shifts are generally 6–8 hours between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., though the position may require varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be able to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Perform moderate lifting of up to 30 pounds.
Be able to crawl, bend, stoop, climb, balance, reach, walk, push, pull, maneuver in tight quarters, and climb ladders and scaffolding.
Use approved chemicals and solvents.
Work outside in cold, hot, and inclement weather, including rain, snow, and sleet.
Respond quickly to audible pages for spill cleanup, customer service, accidents, and emergencies.
Communicate with customers and fellow employees through hearing and speech.
Learn safety and departmental policies and procedures.
Perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.
Obtain Food Handlers Certification as required by state law.

Responsibilities

Welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers, maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic customer-service atmosphere.
Keep the store clean and safe for customers and employees through regular and as-needed cleaning.
Sweep and mop floors throughout sales areas, backrooms, restrooms, offices, and breakrooms, maintain spill-free floors, and complete sweep logs.
Empty trash cans and bins inside and outside the store.
Maintain office and employee breakroom areas; wipe walls and appliances, including pop machines, vending machines, ATMs, cases, and rails.
Clean and sanitize restroom floors, fixtures, and appliances.
Clean cases and glass doors throughout the store.
Maintain can-return machines and their surrounding area, including wiping machines and emptying bins.
Dust and vacuum store facilities.
Assist with replacing lamps in light fixtures.
Clean and scrub backrooms.
Cooperate courteously with customers.
Assist with gathering and bringing shopping carts in from the parking lot as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
