About The Position

The Janitorial Clerk helps maintain a safe, clean store facility and provides friendly, courteous service to internal and external customers. The role includes regularly cleaning store areas and responding to cleaning needs as they arise. It generally involves 6–8 hour shifts scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., within a 24/7 operation. For minors, hours and the machines and equipment operated may differ.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be able to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Be able to perform moderate lifting of up to 30 pounds.
Be able to crawl, bend, stoop, climb, balance, reach, walk, push, pull, maneuver in tight quarters, and climb ladders and scaffolding.
Be able to use approved chemicals and solvents.
Be able to work outdoors in cold, hot, and inclement weather, including rain, snow, and sleet.
Be able to communicate with customers and fellow employees through hearing and speech.
Be able to learn safety and departmental policies and procedures.
Perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy.
Obtain Food Handlers Certification as required by state law.

Responsibilities

Welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers while maintaining a friendly, enthusiastic customer-service environment.
Keep the store clean and safe for customers and employees through regular and as-needed cleaning.
Sweep and mop store floors, maintain spill-free areas, and maintain sweep logs.
Empty trash cans and bins throughout the interior and exterior of the store property.
Maintain office and employee breakroom areas; wipe down walls and appliances such as pop machines, vending machines, ATMs, cases, and rails.
Clean and sanitize restroom floors, fixtures, and appliances.
Clean cases and glass doors throughout the store.
Maintain can return machines and the surrounding area, including wiping down machines and emptying bins.
Dust and vacuum store facilities.
Assist with replacing lamps in light fixtures.
Clean and scrub backrooms.
Cooperate kindly and courteously with customers.
Assist with gathering and bringing in shopping carts from the parking lot as needed.
Respond quickly to audible pages for spill cleanup, customer service, accidents, and emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
