About The Position

Goodwill NCW is a nonprofit organization with 28 retail stores across north-central Wisconsin. Its mission is to elevate people by eliminating barriers to employment and transform lives through skill building for sustained employment and improved financial stability.

The Janitor maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for team members, customers, and visitors. The role covers cleaning and upkeep of store areas and includes some minor or light facilities maintenance. Work is performed primarily on a standard retail sales floor and in the backroom, with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions.

Requirements

• Excellent time management and prioritization skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and attention to detail.
• Basic math skills.
• Experience with computers or willingness and ability to learn.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
• Regular and timely attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, up to 8 hours.
• Ability to independently twist, lift, carry, push, or pull 40–50 pounds; use a team lift for objects weighing over 25 pounds.
• Ability to reach approximately 54 inches and frequently stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch.
• Sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform detailed tasks.
• Ability to verbally communicate and exchange information.

Nice To Haves

• Previous janitorial experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness throughout store areas, including the sales floor, entrances, fitting rooms, breakrooms, office spaces, backroom, and parking lot.
• Use the floor scrubber on the sales floor.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Restock cleaning and restroom supplies.
• Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins throughout the store.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Assist with minor or light facilities maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
