About The Position

The Janitor maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for team members, customers, and visitors at the Goodwill store. The role involves cleaning all store areas, including the sales floor, entrances, fitting rooms, breakrooms, office spaces, backroom, and parking lot. The Janitor also handles restroom sanitation and supply restocking, waste and recycling removal, cleaning glass surfaces, and minor or light facilities maintenance tasks. Work is performed primarily on a retail sales floor and in the backroom, with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions.

Requirements

• Previous janitorial experience preferred.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work through multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, and attention to detail.
• Basic math skills.
• Experience with computers, or willingness and ability to learn.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
• Regular and timely attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, up to 8 hours.
• Ability to independently twist, lift, carry, push, or pull 40–50 pounds; use a team lift for objects weighing over 25 pounds.
• Ability to reach approximately 54 inches and frequently stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch.
• Sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform detailed tasks.
• Ability to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for team members, customers, and visitors.
• Clean all store areas, including the sales floor using a floor scrubber, entrances, fitting rooms, breakrooms, office spaces, backroom, and parking lot.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Restock cleaning and restroom supplies.
• Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins throughout the store.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
• Assist with minor or light facilities maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
