About The Position

Subinitial is seeking a versatile IT professional to serve as the technology interface for its team. The role owns infrastructure connecting four physical sites, supports end-user computing across the organization, and acts as the primary administrator and trainer for the in-house ERP system. It combines traditional IT work—including workstation setup, networking, printers, and VPNs—with application support, user training, and communication between staff and the software development team. The position supports Subinitial, which creates automated test solutions for aerospace and advanced manufacturing teams. The role is based in El Cajon, California, and is in-office, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Travel between the four sites may be required. Extended hours may be required.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience setting up, administering, and troubleshooting Windows and Mac workstations.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience configuring and supporting VPNs.
  • Ability to read and reason about software not written by you, including databases, APIs, logs, and scripts.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues.
  • Strong self-direction and ability to figure out unfamiliar systems without a formal training program.
  • Adaptability and comfort with changing tools and processes.
  • Willingness to travel between the four sites as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or other U.S. person per 22 CFR § 120.62, due to ITAR and/or CUI compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an ERP, MRP, or other business-critical line-of-business application.
