ERP Support Specialist
About The Position
The ERP Support Specialist provides day-to-day technical and functional support for AFC Industries’ ERP environment, initially focused on Epicor Prophet 21 with a potential future transition toward Oracle NetSuite. The role collaborates with business users, IT staff, and external vendors to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, improve business processes, and develop reporting solutions. The position involves analyzing Epicor Prophet 21 data and using Microsoft SQL Server to support queries, reports, and data work across multiple databases. Oracle NetSuite experience is beneficial but not required; willingness and ability to support the platform as the company’s ERP strategy evolves are expected.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Epicor Prophet 21 analysis, configuration, and report development.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio, including basic queries, joins, reporting support, and issue troubleshooting.
- Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 development and configuration tools, including DynaChange Menu Designer, Screen Designer, and Tab Designer.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- Ability and willingness to learn and support Oracle NetSuite as the company’s ERP environment evolves.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite.
- Familiarity with reporting and labeling tools such as BarTender, Visual CUT, Crystal Reports Designer, Crystal Reports Server, and SAP BusinessObjects Central Management Console.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day functional and technical support for Epicor Prophet 21, with the opportunity to support Oracle NetSuite as the company’s ERP strategy evolves.
- Partner with business users to understand requirements and determine whether needs can be addressed through existing ERP functionality, configuration changes, or new reporting solutions.
- Troubleshoot ERP-related issues and coordinate with internal IT staff and external vendors as needed.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute recurring and ad hoc reports to key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain custom Prophet 21 reports, event triggers, forms, labels, and data streams.
- Support label development and printing solutions within Prophet 21 and BarTender.
- Maintain existing data connections to ERP tables and views, using basic SQL queries and joins when needed to support reporting and analysis.
- Assist departments with data and reporting requirements involving vendors, customers, and internal users.
- Support ERP-related projects, including system conversions, enhancements, testing, training, and ongoing system support.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes and increase automation.
- Assist the IT team with data warehouse, reporting, and system integration initiatives.
- Educate users on ERP functionality, processes, and best practices.
- Create and maintain system documentation, report specifications, and user instructions.
