About The Position

Citi Ventures is Citi’s strategic investing and innovation arm, focused on investing in emerging technologies and supporting innovation across the firm through strategic investing, partnerships and venture development, and business development. The Investor Operations team provides operational, governance, analytical, and program management support to these areas, helping promote consistency across venture investing activities, improve operational effectiveness, and support strategic initiatives and process improvements.

The successful candidate will help improve coordination, transparency, efficiency, and consistency across Citi Ventures. The role works with Citi Ventures leadership and stakeholders across the firm, including Finance, Controllers, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Operations. It offers exposure to venture investing, portfolio management, commercialization, business management, and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services, investment banking, consulting, corporate strategy, venture capital, private equity, business analytics, or related fields.
• Interest in venture capital, startup ecosystems, innovation, and financial services.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear and effective presentations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with data, financial analysis, reporting, and presentation development.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
• Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when appropriate.
• Demonstrated ability to support projects from inception through execution.
• Positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to challenge assumptions constructively.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support, including tracking action items, coordinating workflows, producing analytics, and assisting with roadblock resolution.
• Assist in preparing business performance updates and leadership discussion materials.
• Coordinate logistics and materials for Citi Ventures Legal Entity quarterly governance meetings.
• Maintain and update Best Practices documentation, investing templates, procedures, and user guides.
• Prepare materials for team routines, Town Halls, and other forums.
• Collaborate with Client Business Execution and Client Risk and Control teams on routine deliverables and ad hoc requests.
• Compile responses and documentation for 2nd Line of Defense exams and reviews.
• Monitor progress against team goals and contribute to Scorecard/KPI tracking and reporting.
• Support wire execution preparation for new equity venture investments.
• Administer and maintain the Citi Ventures CRM (Affinity) and Investment Workflow tool (Appian).
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and assist with implementing operational efficiencies.
• Help drive adoption of new tools and AI-enabled workflows across the team.
• Support founder onboarding and coordinate access to Citi resources and the venture ecosystem.
• Prepare outreach materials, meeting briefings, and summaries for senior team members.
• Maintain client metrics and tracking logs and assist with regular leadership updates.
