About The Position

Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking an Engineering Intern to join its team in Alexandria, Minnesota, during the summer of 2027. The intern will work closely with the design team, contribute in a consultative capacity, and support the field marketing team in building relationships with civil engineering clients while helping advance commercial objectives. The role offers the opportunity to apply engineering knowledge in support of engineers, contractors, and developers working on civil and/or environmental engineering projects.

The intern will collaborate with design engineers to develop and present project-specific solutions, assist with engineering designs and plans under senior engineers' supervision, and perform calculations and analyses supporting design decisions. The position also involves cross-functional teamwork, support for submittals, production and product delivery, possible site visits, and adherence to engineering standards and procedures. It offers hands-on experience in a collaborative environment at an industry leader in design, manufacturing, sourcing, and distribution.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program; Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, database management software, and basic CAD.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

• Civil Engineering undergraduate studies are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department design engineers to present project-specific solutions to clients.
• Provide quality designs and advice to secure and integrate company products into site plans.
• Assist in creating engineering designs and plans under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support effective communication and timely project completion.
• Support submittals, production, and product delivery.
• May conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality.
