About The Position

The Civil/Structural Engineering Intern works on a project team and assists engineering team members with project execution. Projects may include designing new power plants or modifying and upgrading existing power plant systems, components, and structures. Under engineers' direction, the intern supports structural engineering work and applies and expands their academic knowledge in structural analysis and design.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree program in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Must be enrolled in an ABET/EAC-accredited engineering program.

Nice To Haves

• General work experience in any industry.
• Extracurricular activities demonstrating initiative and teamwork capabilities.
• Interest in behavior of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, reinforced concrete design, and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Assist in reviewing structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Support engineers and designers in structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations.
