About The Position
The Interim 2nd Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering an exceptional employee and guest experience and driving profitable top-line sales growth. This is an interim/seasonal position at a Yankee Candle retail store in Dawsonville, Georgia. The role helps build and develop a high-performing team, support guest-focused selling and store presentation, and assist with business analysis and operational execution. The position also supports inventory management, expense control, safety, loss prevention, and achievement of Key Performance Indicator goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building a high-performing team that represents Newell Brand Values.
- Assist with effective onboarding and ongoing development of team members.
- Recognize and address positive and negative HR-related situations through performance management.
- Provide coaching and foster a positive work environment.
- Help create a store environment focused on exceptional guest experience, sales results, and a safe, inviting shopping and working experience.
- Understand guest needs, demonstrate product knowledge, and make emotional connections with guests.
- Implement company selling strategies, coach selling behaviors, and maximize the Guest Sales Leader role to increase sales potential.
- Drive guest loyalty through the Rewards Loyalty program, Key Performance Indicators, Best Guest communication, and Grass Roots Marketing.
- Build lasting customer relationships to enhance loyalty.
- Maintain store appearance by implementing company visual standards, including plan-o-grams, planning, visual maintenance, signage, and cleanliness.
- Assist in analyzing the business and creating action plans for effective execution of operational activities.
- Ensure clear and effective team communication that creates understanding and alignment.
- Support inventory management activities and control expenses.
- Incorporate safety and loss prevention measures into daily activities and follow company policies and Code of Ethics.
- Achieve or exceed Key Performance Indicator goals through planning, execution, and continuous performance improvement.
