About The Position

The Integrated Programs Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to determine and verify Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet) eligibility for applications completed by University Health Financial Counseling Center staff. The work includes reviewing applications, gathering required documentation, assessing income, assets, and other eligibility factors, and verifying and loading insurance into the University Health system after approval. The coordinator also interviews patients and other sources to collect demographic and financial information and link patients with the hospital’s clinical and financial systems. The role explains health benefit regulations and patient financial obligations to responsible parties. Communication and interviews may take place face to face, by phone, at the bedside, in ambulatory clinics, or through online tools. As a first point of contact by phone for patients and internal or external customers seeking information about financial assistance, the coordinator asks questions to identify appropriate financial options and uses interactions to help solve problems. The role uses multiple systems and tools to assess eligibility for assistance programs and is expected to perform these activities independently. The position is funded solely by grant funds and may cease if grant funding ends.
