About The Position

This role ensures patient access processing is completed according to procedure and documented accurately and promptly in ADT and other clinical information systems. The specialist meets departmental and organizational targets for process accuracy and timeliness. The position is part-time, onsite in Smithfield, North Carolina, with a night work schedule and 24 standard hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of customer service and/or clerical experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify that ADT information, including insurance verification and patient and guarantor demographics, is current and accurate to support patient safety, charging, coding, insurance processing, and billing.
• Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments as required, attempt to reschedule cancellations when possible, and communicate cancellations to providers as necessary.
• Complete and document governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms according to procedure.
• Ensure documents are scanned or saved to the correct location and are legible.
• Use the price estimation tool when applicable during registration to provide patients with accurate estimates.
• Meet departmental targets for upfront collections, including deposits, estimated amounts due, co-pays, and prior balances.
• Participate in departmental quality assurance by using system work queues, reducing individual errors, and making corrections.
• Use system work queues daily as part of registration to minimize errors.
