About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for HIST 2Q90, Canada: War and Nationalism, for the Fall D2 term. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The instructor will be responsible for scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. The compensation for a full course is $15,775.20, nominally 390 hours. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Canadian History (or senior doctoral candidates if no qualified applicants)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise in the history of war, ethnicity, and national identity in Canada since the late 19th century
  • Demonstrated scholarly engagement with the historical profession
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate university History courses
  • Evidence of teaching excellence in History at the undergraduate university level (e.g., letters of reference, course/performance evaluations, and/or other components of a teaching dossier)
