About The Position
Brock University is seeking an Instructor for HIST 3P74, a course focusing on Division and Diversity: Immigration, Ethnicity, and Race in Canada. This role involves scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. The compensation is set at $7,887.59 per half course and $15,775.20 per full course, effective September 1, 2026. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. This position is subject to course enrollments and budgetary approval.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Canadian History (senior doctoral candidates may be considered if no qualified applicants)
- Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise in the history of immigration, ethnicity, and race in Canada since the 19th century
- Demonstrated scholarly engagement with the historical profession
- Experience in teaching undergraduate university History courses
- Evidence of teaching excellence in History at the undergraduate university level (e.g., letters of reference, course/performance evaluations, and/or other components of a teaching dossier)
