About The Position

The Department of History at St. Francis Xavier University is seeking Part-time Academic Instructors to teach specific history courses (HIST 314, HIST 355, HIST 322, HIST 323) and potentially two additional 3-credit courses from their offerings, depending on applicant qualifications. These courses are each 3 credits and are intended to be taught in person during the fall (September to December) and winter (January to April) terms of the 2026-27 academic year, with classes commencing on September 2nd. Proposals for online synchronous courses may also be considered. Requirements

• PhD in History (preferred)
• Strong teaching skills

• Prior experience in university-level teaching (preferred)
