About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for LING 3P93 WINTER 2027, a half course on Gender and Language. This position involves scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. The class will be held face-to-face at the Brock University main campus in St. Catharines. This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group).

Requirements

  • A relevant doctorate.
  • In the absence of a PhD qualification, a master’s degree with evidence of sufficient academic background (e.g. course work or thesis focus) in relevant areas may be considered.
  • Evidence of educational background must be provided.
  • Previous successful academic teaching experience (as instructor responsible for all aspects of the course).
  • Teaching competence (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference and/or other components of a teaching dossier).

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Preparation of lectures
  • Student consultation
  • Marking and grading
  • Course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
  • Responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course if employed in a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent.
