About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for LING 3P90 WINTER 2027: LANGUAGE DISORDERS IN CHILDREN & YOUTH. This is a half course position with an estimated 195 hours of work. The instructor will be responsible for scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. This course will be held face-to-face on the Brock University main campus in St. Catharines.

Requirements

  • A relevant doctorate (PhD)
  • Previous successful academic teaching experience (as instructor responsible for all aspects of the course)
  • Teaching competence (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference and/or other components of a teaching dossier)

Nice To Haves

  • In the absence of the PhD qualification, a master’s degree with evidence of sufficient academic background (e.g. course work or thesis focus) in relevant areas may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
  • Responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course if employed in a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent.

Benefits

  • Compensation for the half course is $7,887.59 effective September 1, 2026.
