About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course Public Policy and Social Change. The focus of this course is to examine the role of public policy in social change and the factors that influence governments to embrace or reject social change. It examines recent social changes as well as ongoing changes pertaining to climate change, social justice, and economic innovation. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Requirements

  • PhD. or doctoral candidate with course work and comprehensive exams completed in political science concentrating in Canadian public policy
  • Evidence of active research interest in public policy
  • Teaching experience in public policy
  • Evidence of successful experience in teaching

Benefits

  • Compensation effective September 1, 2026 - $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally)
  • Compensation effective September 1, 2026 - $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally)
