About The Position

This course focuses on current issues in the application, verification, and enforcement of UN Covenants on Torture and Human Rights and related international conventions. It also covers the structure, function, and impact of regional, national, and local human rights institutions in Canada and abroad. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Political Science with specialization in international relations or comparative politics
  • Evidence of active research interest in the area of human rights
  • Teaching experience in the area of human rights
  • Doctoral candidates with course work and comprehensive exams completed in Political Science
  • Evidence of research interest in the area of human rights (course work and thesis focus)
  • Teaching experience in the area of human rights (course work and thesis focus)
