About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for LING 2P02 WINTER 2027 - AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE IV. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group and involves teaching a half course. The compensation for the role is effective September 1, 2026. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. The class will be held face-to-face at the Brock University main campus in St. Catharines. Requirements

A relevant doctorate.
In the absence of the PhD qualification, a master’s degree with evidence of sufficient background (e.g. course work or thesis focus) in relevant areas may be considered.
Evidence of educational background must be provided.
Practical experience with American Sign Language as a first or subsequent language.
Previous successful academic teaching experience (as instructor responsible for all aspects of the course).
Teaching competence (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference and/or other components of a teaching dossier).

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.
Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
