About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) VISA 1P96 Studio Foundation Two positions: Section 2 and 3. This course covers basic aesthetic and conceptual processes that underlie visual art production, including two- and three-dimensional formal principles, fundamental critical issues, and stylistic/material development. Examples from historic and contemporary art practice provide context for studio projects and readings. The course involves lectures and studio work, meeting for 4 hours per week.

Requirements

  • MFA is required.
  • Previous teaching experience of at least two years in photography, sculpture, drawing and painting at the university level is required.
  • A record of professional activity and exhibitions in the area of studio practice and exhibitions demonstrative of standing in the art community is required.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level in the area to be taught is required (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference, and/or other components of teaching dossier) is required.
  • All applicable documentation pertaining to any applications must be submitted at the same time with the application.
  • Applicants that are in excess of the noted workload limits will not have their applications considered unless they have received prior written approval from the appropriate Dean and the Human Resources Department.

  • Course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
  • Responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course for instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent.
