About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) VISA 3P93 Expressive Drawing Two positions: Section 1 and 2. This course focuses on advanced drawing as a means of expressing personal and subjective imagery, involving lectures and studio work for 4 hours per week. The Department is the Department of Visual Arts – Studio Art, and the delivery method is face-to-face. The schedule is for the Fall Term Duration 2 (D2), with Section 1 on Mondays from 0900 to 1300 and Section 2 on Mondays from 1330 to 1730. Instructors are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

  • MFA is required.
  • Previous teaching experience of at least two years at the university level is required.
  • Demonstrated background in teaching advanced drawing practices in the context of critical strategies, personal mythologies, process and meaning is required.
  • A record of professional activity and exhibitions with a focus on drawing demonstrative of standing in the art community is required.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level in the area to be taught (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference, and/or other components of teaching dossier) is required.
  • All qualifications must be met.
  • All applicable documentation pertaining to any applications must be submitted at the same time with the application.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.
