About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill two existing vacancies for Instructor VISA 3P94 Contemporary Drawing. This course focuses on advanced drawing that questions the boundaries of media, process, and creative expression. The role involves lectures and studio work, with a schedule of 4 hours per week during the Winter Term (D3). The positions are within the Department of Visual Arts – Studio Art and are delivered face-to-face. Section 1 is scheduled for Mondays from 0900 to 1300, and Section 2 is scheduled for Mondays from 1330 to 1730. Instructors are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course if the lecture is 2 hours/week.

Requirements

  • MFA is required.
  • Previous teaching experience of at least two years at the university level is required.
  • Demonstrated background in teaching advanced drawing practices in the context of critical strategies, personal mythologies, process and meaning is required.
  • A record of professional activity and exhibitions with a focus on drawing demonstrative of standing in the art community is required.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level in the area to be taught (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference, and/or other components of teaching dossier) is required.
  • All qualifications must be met.
  • All applicable documentation pertaining to any applications must be submitted at the same time with the application.
