About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for VISA 3P04 Painting Concepts. The course involves conceptual development, synthesis, and integration of media emphasizing contemporary approaches and practices. It includes lectures and studio work, with 4 hours of contact time per week. The department is the Department of Visual Arts – Studio Art, and the delivery method is face-to-face. The schedule is for the Winter Term, Duration 3 (D3), Section 1, on Mondays from 13:30 to 17:30.

Requirements

MFA is required.
Previous teaching experience of at least two years at the university level is required.
Demonstrated background in teaching the practical and theoretical aspects of painting, including color theory and the history and techniques of acrylics and oils is required.
Familiarity with all technical aspects of canvas stretching, basic hand tools, studio safety and woodshop protocols involving the operation of a table and compound saw is required.
Record of professional activity and exhibitions with a focus on painting demonstrative of standing in the arts community is required.
Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level in the area to be taught (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference, and/or other components of teaching dossier) is required.

Responsibilities
