About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) VISA 3F91 Advanced Art Practice. The role involves artistic research and creation from the perspective of project-oriented, independent production, and the development of artistic practices emphasizing concept to realization processes. The position includes lectures and lab sessions, totaling 4 hours per week, delivered face-to-face during the Fall/Winter Terms for Duration 1 (D1). The specific section is Wednesday from 18:00 to 22:00.
Requirements
- MFA is required.
- Previous teaching experience of at least two years in foundation studio, drawing and sculpture courses at the university level is required.
- Demonstrated ability to teach students in all areas of studio practice is required.
- A record of professional activity and exhibitions demonstrative of standing in the art community is required.
- Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level in the area to be taught (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference, and/or other components of teaching dossier) is required.
- All applicable documentation pertaining to any applications must be submitted at the same time with the application.
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
- Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
