About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course CANA 1F91 Introduction to Canadian Studies for the Fall/Winter D1 term. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (nominally 195 hours) or $15,775.20 per full course (nominally 390 hours). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities align with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time, lecture preparation, student consultation, marking, grading, and course administration.

Requirements

• PhD or ABD status in a Doctoral program in Canadian Studies, History (with a specialty in Canadian History), or Literature (with a specialty in Canadian Literature).
• Knowledge of Canadian Studies relevant to applicable course.
• Broad familiarity with instruction in the Canadian Studies program at Brock.
• Experience coordinating large courses online and in person.
• In the absence of applicants who meet the qualifications above, candidates with a Master's degree with evidence of strong background in Canadian Studies may also be deemed suitable.
