About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) MUSI 3Y08 Integrated Musicianship IV – Winter (D3). This is the fourth semester of training in musicianship skills through recognition and practical exercises, and a continuation of MUSI 3Y07. The course involves a lab component, 3 hours per week, delivered in-person during the Winter (D3) semester on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

• Relevant Master of Music degree or equivalent professional experience
• Significant teaching experience in aural skills, sight-singing and keyboard harmony at the undergraduate level
• Demonstrated effectiveness of teaching through student or peer teaching evaluations, letters of recommendation, or equivalent documentation
• Demonstrated ability to use the BRIGHTSPACE online learning management system or equivalent systems in other institutions

Responsibilities

• Scheduled contact time with students
• Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
• Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
