About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) MUSI 2Y08 Integrated Musicianship II – Winter (D3). This course is the second semester of training in musicianship skills through recognition and practical exercises. It involves a lab component of 3 hours per week for one term. The delivery method is in-person, scheduled for Wednesdays and Fridays from 0900 to 1030 during the Winter (D3) semester.
Requirements
- Relevant Master of Music degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant teaching experience in aural skills, sight-singing and keyboard harmony at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated effectiveness of teaching through student or peer teaching evaluations, letters or recommendations, or equivalent documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to use the BRIGHTSPACE online learning management system or equivalent systems in other institutions.
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
- Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
- Responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course for instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent.
