About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in MUSI 1P50 Music in Global Cultures – Winter (D3) Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. The course explores how music influences and reflects its culture and society, issues of musical style from historical and cross-cultural perspectives, and music research and writing skills. The lectures are 3 hours per week, with specific lecture and section times listed. Compensation for Teaching Assistant positions is based on qualifications, with different rates for those holding a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree compared to those who do not. Additional duties are compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Requirements

• Completed Honours Bachelor’s degree in Music or other Humanities discipline
• At least 80% in a music history-type course
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines

• Student consultation
• Marking or grading
