This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course POLI 1P97: Politics and Sports. The course examines the place of sport in politics and society in a global context, covering topics such as political economy, globalization, nationalism, militarism, gender, colonialism, race and ethnicity, and transnational regulation. The nominal workload for this position is 60 hours. Duties include facilitating small group discussions, grading assignments and exams, providing constructive feedback to students, and maintaining accurate records of student performance. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation, consultation, marking, proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other administrative tasks.
