This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) HAVC 1Q98 Introduction to Visual Culture. The course covers the overview of visual culture, its vocabulary, technologies and structures within varied cultural contexts. It also delves into problems of meaning, functions of visual culture in contemporary society, the role of galleries and museums, and the impact of imagery in advertising, popular media and consumer culture, along with contemporary critical methodology. The course is delivered through lectures and seminars, meeting for 3 hours per week. The TA contract for this course will be for 60 hours. The course is scheduled for the Winter Term (Duration 3) and will be delivered online synchronously on Wednesdays and Fridays from 13:30 to 15:00. A fully online synchronous course is a conferencing learning environment delivered remotely through audio and video conferencing to provide simultaneous communication between the instructor and students.
