About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) CONSTRUCTING HEALTH CAMPAIGNS. The compensation is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, course administration, grade appeals, and cases of academic dishonesty.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in any Public Health discipline combined with relevant experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of planning public health communication/social marketing campaigns
  • Previous academic training and/or teaching experiences that include courses related to public health program planning (such as Brock’s HLSC 3F20, 3Q20, 3Q21, 3P50)
  • Ability to create, deliver and manage asynchronous online lessons that effectively engage students in course content
  • Demonstrated proficiency assessing student learning in an online environment
  • Superior in-person and electronic communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Information-management skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience with large class size at the undergraduate university level

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with online delivery tools (MS Teams, Brightspace, Lifesize, etc.) is an asset
