About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) Human Physiology: Cellular Processes/Metabolic Compensation. The position is effective September 1, 2026. Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Requirements

  • PhD in a Health-Science related field.
  • A sound knowledge of the fundamental principles of human physiology with emphasis on cellular structure and function, cellular metabolism, muscle, nerve, and endocrine functions.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience with large class size at the undergraduate university level.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with online delivery tools (MS Teams, Brightspace, Lifesize, etc.) is an asset.
  • If no qualified PhD applications have been received, those at ABD or those with a master’s degree combined with relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.
