This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Lab Demonstrator in HLSC 2P08 Fall D2-1 at Brock University. The position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) and falls under Human Physiology: Cellular Processes/Metabolic Compensation. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the employee's qualifications. Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $22.07 per hour (effective September 1, 2024). Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $34.73 per hour (effective September 1, 2024). Additional duties required as part of a Teaching Assistant's role will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The nominal workload for this position is 10 hours per week, consisting of 6 hours of demonstrating and 4 hours of marking and lab preparation. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The incumbent, under the direction of the Senior Lab Instructor, is expected to be familiar with laboratory procedures, introduce the lab, demonstrate techniques, teach and assist students during the lab, maintain safe lab conditions, prepare and clean up the lab, mark lab reports, and attend meetings as needed.
