About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Lab Demonstrator for the COSC 2P08 Programming for Big Data course for the Fall D2-1 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The nominal workload is 10 hours per week, including demonstrating, marking, and lab preparation. The role involves assisting students, maintaining lab safety, preparing and cleaning the lab, marking reports, and attending meetings under the direction of the Senior Lab Instructor.

Requirements

• MSc or currently enrolled in a graduate program in Computer Science
• Completed COSC 2P08 or an equivalent course with a grade of 80% or higher
• Submit seniority date with application (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Familiar with laboratory procedures
• Present an introduction to the lab
• Demonstrate laboratory techniques
• Teach and assist students during the lab
• Maintain safe lab conditions
• Responsible for lab preparation and cleanup
• Mark lab reports
• Attend meetings as needed
