Lab Demonstrator COSC 2P03 Fall D2
About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Lab Demonstrator in the COSC 2P03 Fall D2 course. The nominal workload for this position is 10 hours per week, consisting of 6 hours demonstrating and 4 hours of marking and lab preparation. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The role involves assisting students in laboratory procedures, demonstrating techniques, maintaining lab safety, preparing and cleaning up the lab, and marking lab reports. Employees are paid according to their qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026: $23.30 per hour for those without a 4-year honours degree or 3-year pass degree, and $36.67 per hour for those with such a degree.
Requirements
- Must have completed COSC 2P03 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
- Graduate of or Major in Computer Science with a minimum major average of 75%.

Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Senior Lab Instructor, be familiar with laboratory procedures.
- Present an introduction to the lab.
- Demonstrate laboratory techniques.
- Teach and assist students during the lab.
- Maintain safe lab conditions.
- Be responsible for lab preparation and cleanup.
- Mark lab reports.
- Attend meetings as needed.
