Course Coordinator COSC 2P03 Fall D2
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for COSC 2P03 Fall D2. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) and involves responsibilities related to the Advanced Data Structures course. The compensation for this role is based on qualifications, with different rates for employees holding a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree compared to those who do not. The Course Coordinator reports to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and is responsible for overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants, assisting with marking schemes and coordinating the marking of assignments and exams.
Requirements
- Must have sound knowledge of any software (such as IntelliJ, Dr. Java, JCreator), which is directly or indirectly used within COSC 2P03 as outlined in the course description within the Brock University Undergraduate calendar and/or course outlines supplied by the instructor.
- Must have completed COSC 1P02, COSC 1P03 and COSC 2P03 (or equivalents), and achieved the grade of 75% or higher in all
- Must be familiar with Brock Java Library
- Excellent at Java
- Previous successful teaching/marking experience in computer science
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Available during normal office hours for group meetings and labs
- Available after office hours to provide general consultations
- High level of interpersonal skills and effective verbal communication skills
- Academic integrity and professionalism
Nice To Haves
- Previous Course Coordinator experience is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
- Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
- Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes and coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
- Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
