About The Position
Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor in Biostatistics I for the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. This position is for the HLSC 2P07 course in the Fall D2 term. The compensation effective September 1, 2026, is $7,887.59 per half course (nominally 195 hours) and $15,775.20 per full course (nominally 390 hours). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities align with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, including scheduled student contact time and non-classroom activities such as lecture preparation, student consultation, marking, grading, and course administration.
Requirements
- A PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related field.
- A sound knowledge of R or SAS programs is required.
- Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience with large class size at the undergraduate university level.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with online delivery tools (MS Teams, Brightspace, Lifesize, etc.) is an asset.
- Those at ABD or those with a master’s degree combined with relevant experience will be considered if no qualified PhD applications are received.
