About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course The Philosophy of Law (also offered as 5P01). This is a seminar course for undergraduate and graduate students that focuses on traditional and contemporary accounts of law within political theory and their implications. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Political Science with a concentration in Political Theory with demonstrated university training (course work and/or thesis focus) indicating the candidate’s competence to teach a senior and graduate level course on the philosophy of law.
  • Demonstrated success in university teaching in Political Science (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference and/or other components of a teaching dossier).
  • Demonstrated scholarly research in Political Science (e.g. research support, publications, conference presentations).
