About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for a Half Course Instructor for LING 1P92, Introduction to Psychology of Language, for the Fall 2026 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation for a half course is $7,887.59, based on approximately 195 hours of work. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab. Duties include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration.

Requirements

  • A relevant doctorate (PhD)
  • Previous successful academic teaching experience (as instructor responsible for all aspects of the course)
  • Teaching competence (e.g. course evaluations, letters of reference and/or other components of a teaching dossier)
  • Evidence of educational background must be provided

Nice To Haves

  • In the absence of the PhD qualification, a master’s degree with evidence of sufficient academic background (e.g. course work or thesis focus) in relevant areas may be considered.
