About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for a half course in LING 2P90, Fall 2026, focusing on the Anatomy & Physiology of Speech Production. This position is to fill an existing vacancy within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The course will be held face-to-face at the Brock University main campus in St. Catharines. The compensation for a half course is $7,887.59 effective September 1, 2026. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. The class is scheduled for Fall 2026.

Requirements

  • A relevant doctorate is required.
  • In the absence of a PhD, a master's degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders with evidence of sufficient clinical experience in medical settings or other relevant background (e.g., course work or thesis focus) may be considered.
  • Previous successful academic teaching experience (as instructor responsible for all aspects of the course).
  • Evidence of teaching competence (e.g., course evaluations, letters of recommendation and/or other components of a teaching dossier).

Responsibilities

  • Scheduled contact time with students
  • Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
  • Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
