About The Position
Brock University is seeking an Instructor for a half course in POLI 2P80, Introduction to Research Design and Methods, for the Fall 2026 term. This course focuses on research methodologies and skills commonly used by political scientists. The instructor will be responsible for scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. Requirements
- PhD or doctoral candidate with evidence of training at the doctoral level in the qualitative and quantitative research methods and skills employed in political science
- Ability to introduce students to various qualitative and quantitative research techniques such as specifying research problems, structuring social-scientific inquiries and understanding the role of descriptive and inferential statistics in political science
- Evidence of successful experience in teaching the use, understanding and assessment of research methods
