About the position
As an Instructor in the Cybersecurity Engineering Program, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting a cohort of students from orientation to graduation. Your role will involve delivering lectures, conducting labs, providing one-on-one instruction, and facilitating study groups. You will serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert, assisting students as they progress through the program. Additionally, you will collaborate with faculty and staff to develop course material, troubleshoot curriculum issues, foster a sense of community among students, and ensure their success. This is a Full-Time instructional role that requires teaching Monday-Friday from 9 am-6 pm EST.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with students as their dedicated leader for the course, elevating them to meet the technical bar
- Lecture on one or more of the course curriculum topics
- Conduct hands-on lab sessions with students daily to reinforce learning
- Maintain the pace of the course, monitor individual progress, and implement interventions when students fall behind
- Collaborate with external departments to improve course curriculum and student success
- Provide real-time assistance to students through various communication channels
- Facilitate education operations in the Learning Management System
- Assign and review coursework, providing qualitative feedback
- Lead projects to demonstrate mastery of content modules
- Conduct assessments and coach students on deepening their understanding
- Monitor and engage in student discussions, providing technical support and fostering community
- Incorporate personal passions into lesson plans
- Be available, responsive, excited, and kind to create a challenging learning environment
- Use student feedback to continually improve
- Assist colleagues in developing learning interventions
- Collaborate with curriculum and teacher training teams to deliver feedback for student experiences

Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in discipline AND minimum 2 years of full-time (or equivalent) in-field work experience
- Any higher education degree in any field AND minimum 5 years of full-time (or equivalent) in-field work experience
- Any higher education degree in any field AND a non-degree certificate in discipline from an accredited or DPOS approved school AND minimum 2 years of full-time (or equivalent) in-field work experience
- A High School Diploma AND 7 years of full-time (or equivalent) in-field work experience
- All Instructors licensed in New York will be required to participate in yearly training that is required and facilitated by New York State to maintain their teaching license. This may require weekend courses depending on course availability.
- All Instructors/Faculty Managers/Campus Directors will be required to maintain licensure in required states per compliance standards.
