About The Position
Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course COSC 4P01 - Software Engineering 1 for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation for the role is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (nominally 195 hours) or $15,775.20 per full course (nominally 390 hours). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture, or equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Requirements
- PhD (complete or enrolled in) in Computer Science or related discipline, specializing in Software Engineering, preferred.
- University-level teaching experience in Software Engineering
- Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations)
- Cover letter and a current resume
- All required documentation must be included, including letters of reference and course/performance evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Non-classroom time including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration
- Handling grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
