Teaching Assistant COSC 4P14 Fall D2
About The Position
Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant for the COSC 4P14 Advanced Computer Networks course for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. Compensation for Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions is based on qualifications. Undergraduate rate is $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026) for those without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree. Graduate rate is $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026) for those holding a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- At least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in Computer Science with a major average of 75%, or who have completed a Computer Science Degree
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
